Ames makes CNN listing of best places to live in U.S.

Last week, CNN's Money Magazine named Ames as one of the top 100 best places to live in America.

Ames came in at No. 53 on the list of small cities with populations larger that 50,000. It was the only Iowa city that made the top 100.

The mayor of Ames, Ann Campbell, said she believed the city's amenities helped it make the list.

The Team USA Under-17 national hockey squad is finding itself being guided by a key St. Cloud part.

SCSU's men's hockey assistant coach Eric Rud, has been named the team's head coach.

The team will participate in the 2008 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament from August 19-24 in Prievidza, Slovakia.

Suspect charged after bomb scare at Memorial Union

"Bomb in one hour" the note read.

These four words mobilized Memorial Union employees into immediately securing the men's restroom on the first floor of the building and contacting the ISU Police.

An ISU dining employee, Daniel Lee Grice, of Ames, reported that he'd found the note in the men's restroom on the first floor of the Memorial Union on Wednesday.

MSU student dies

A Minnesota State student was found dead Wednesday, June 25, in Mankato.

The cause of death of Bradley Herman, 21, has yet to be confirmed by the Mankato Department of Public Safety.

Authorities haven't ruled out suicide. The Rock County Star Herald reports that Herman battled depression.

But while "Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" didn't live up to its hype, there's still one film many people are expecting to be huge.

The release of Christopher Nolan's new Batman film, "The Dark Knight," is still more than a week away but people are already buying their midnight tickets so they can be the first to see it.
