In the grand scheme of things, one might argue that '90s boy-band the Backstreet Boys matter little to the history of music. Their preteen fans are now adults, or trying to be, and you'd be hard pressed to name even three bands that were heavily influenced by Backstreet.

After a long, empty summer, students are returning to Mankato, which means the downtown scene will soon begin to pick up as well.
The Underground Bar booking agent and promoter, Aaron Kastning, is hoping Thursday nights will bring out a younger crowd.
Starting this Friday and Saturday, The Underground will offer a variety of 18-plus and alcohol-free concerts featuring live bands.

Kansas City native Tidy Dillard has been on the comic circuit since 1992, opening for the likes of Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker. Dillard has also been featured on Comedy Central, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and performed at the 2006 Super Bowl.

Orientation has always been a critical part of the freshman experience and the USD's O-Team is working on improving participation by increasing and creating new Orientation activities.
