A book club is starting on campus that is open to Southwest Minnesota State University students and the Marshall community. Club meetings will be held at Java City in the Student Center Feb. 9, 16 and 23 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The first book that will be read and discussed is "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire.

Chef Robert Danhi spent the afternoon in the Southwest Minnesota State University Culinology kitchens on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Chef Danhi gave two presentations to the public and students of SMSU based on Southeast Asian flavor and cuisine.
His first presentation focused on the product and development of the product.

The Student Hospitatlity Organization of Southwest Minnesota State University was created about 30 years ago to prepare students and help them be better hospitality professionals.
Today, the goals haven't changed much. They still aim to give an opportunity to students to experience real life situations in the hospitality industry.

They walked for about thirty minutes, all thirsty, hungry and exhausted when they saw something that looked like a water garden. They rushed to it, but then they saw a very skinny guy that had sharp blades at his fingers instead of nails. This guy was apparently the protector of the water garden and was not very happy about the presence of the children.

The words witty, funny and charming best describe Stephanie Winters, the 2009-10 SAC Coordinator. A sophomore photography major originally from Ocheyedan, Iowa. Winters joined the Southwest Minnesota State University Student Activities Committee as a general member under Brittany Bayuk, the former SAC coordinator, her freshman year, she explained.
