One of the most awaited Winter Meltdown week events, the Nearly Naked Mile turned a chilly Thursday into a hot and energetic evening. Though the program was supposed to start at 8 p.m., the curiosity of the participants pulled them into RA facility at 7:25 p.m.
It was freezing cold outside, but inside the RA facility, the event turned out to be hot when guys and gals presented themselves in fancy costumes. The courage to run in the cold was empowered by the fancy guys in Superman costumes. The eye-catching duo of the event was a pair of fairies, which added taste.
As it was extremely cold outside and people were to run nearly naked, expected participation was low. But out of the 18 to 20 students expected to show, 25 student participants were jumping and leaping all around the track nearly naked.
"This event is completely new, interesting and I am enjoying it," said Nicole Knecht, freshman chemistry major. "Running this way in the mid winter is fun, it's interesting and moreover, we will be donating clothes and having fun at the same time."
